Today I got a good bit done ... even in this 112* weather.

We worked on the camper with the AC on.

Rhonda and I put in the panels and installed 3 12v dual bulb lights on the ceiling. one near the foot of the bed area and two up front where we plan to install some cabinets and frig later.
I still have some screws left to put in and finish tightening up some others. But it is going to look good and is definitely making being in the camper bearable with this heat and the ac on.

just took some evening light picks so I could get a better idea about how we decided to place them.

front from the front. we have fully functional 12v indoor lights in camper. You can see the 110v receptacle/night light to the left of the fold up chair.

today 7.30 I got the cabinet built after staining all the parts.

all of our electrical in 110 and 12v is enclosed in this cabinet that also houses the larger dorm refrigerator and to the left of that is a stand for the portapottie (ICOEO) {LOL}
You can also see "the WFCO 25 AMP CONVERTER with automatic three-stage charging provides superior 12-volt system performance while maintaining the ideal charge and maintenance of your battery." later I'll add to that panel a 110v receptacle and a 12v outlet.
Perhaps a car stereo system too.

The top of the cabinet is one piece furniture grade stained to match the rest of the camper. Above that is a shelf to hold Rhonda's coffee stuff later

edit to add.. as you can see my painting of the nasty walls is still ongoing. waiting on a day less humid.

What does it look like from the outside on the side with the A/C? Just curious how far the A/C sticks out the side...

hrm. I'll get a pic tomorrow. it doesn't stick out even half over that fender on the right side.

as you can see. 6.5 inches. not even as far out as the fender that is beneath it. it's a Walmart 5000. Seems to be plenty as I've been running it constantly while I worked within it, parked in full sun.

I already had this unit in our bedroom to help out. I'm not saying I'd not like to have another portable floor vented ac like a 10-12,000 but it's doable for now.

That's not sticking out nearly as far as what I'd have thought! That's not bad at all. I looked at a couple of small window units for my 6 X 10 but I didn't like how far they were going stick out on the outside. I didn't really want to use a portable in that trailer due to the room I was giving up on the inside. I guess I should have looked at some new window units. The ones I measured were older ones that I had access to...

I took it out and stuck it in the window to cool the camper while I've been working on it. it's a 5000 and it's doing ok. But for camping and relaxing.. I could stand a bit cooler than it will go sitting infull sun. when i have spare cash, I'll step up to a larger portable I have a bit of floor space to spare if I'm careful. Mine's mostly done. just have to add a few more receptacles and one 110v light and I'll be content " For now".

Future projects include:
* a table outside that lays on the front /tongue deck.
* A outside work station table sink combo.
* on the rack on top I want to figure out how to attach a tarp
* on the rear of trailer I'd like to have a 2" hitch welded for a cargo carrier
for fuel and propane, etc.

8.1.11 today I added a 12v outlet and 12v power meter below the converter. and I got the painting completed.
Now I'll just do some cleaning up and put the bed back in place. Think it's time to enjoy it awhile and see what is lacking.

Is your AC unit held in place the same way a window unit is supported in a house? I want to do a similar install (thur the wall), and wonder about the support while traveling.

Yes same as it was mounted in the house. But, I'll be taking it out of the camper window when we're traveling. I just don't care to put that strain on the window unnecessarily.

I have finished installing the patio lights. 2 on the right side and one centered on the other three sides, all amber bug lenses.
I've been working on painting the inside as the humidity allows.
I've also been working on tyeing up some of the wiring. I think instead of cutting it all to fit right now.. I'm going to leave a bit of spare in case I need to pig-tail off something I've not thought of yet.

Freak accident with my AC yesterday. A screw flew off the drill bit head and went into the back of my ac and punctured the coolant line. GRRRRRR

Not sure how or if I can fix that.
