paint is all done and trim work that I'm going to do for now is done.

I need to go online shopping for a portable floor AC that vents outside through a window or the floor. That's all that's left before we take our Edisto trip next month.
Yeah, I'm sure I'll think of something else to do to it before then.

Wolfscout,
My sister tent camps at Edisto several times a year. She loves it and has been trying to get me to go. I prolly will when I get my 24' bbq competion trailer built.

How many times have you been to Edisto?

Nice looking porch! It goes well with the rustic overall appearance :)

@ blues brother I've been going to Edisto since I was in my early teens. It's not changed much and grown commercial like many other beaches. Fishing is usually great.

@ pyrofish.. that is the idea to keep it "Rustic"

sighs. I decided last night to take the trailer to the Welding shop to get a new fold-up jack put on and cut off that dang bent center mounted jack.
I didn't want to chance nothing on my up coming Beach week.

I posted this on Don's thread a minute ago.

@ don and others...
have you noticed a need to do something about the refrigerator door coming open during travel?

I ask because other weekend I pulled mine across the property and set up for a weekend. the fridge door had come open in the travel. small mess I was lucky.
When I took it to the Welders other day to have him weld on a new folding Jack.. I noticed, upon checking inside, that the frig-door had come open again in travel. So I grabbed the cordless drilling... and sank in two eye bolts so I could bungee it shut.
I'm sure that will work when I bring it home. LOL

I now have a nice folding Jack welded to the trailer and that old center three bolt Jack is in the barn to be put on a farm trailer I have later.
I also took the CTC over and got two new tires for our Edisto Trip on Monday AM. dang set me back $300+ for those 2 Carlisles. I never thought on it.. but when I bought it a few months ago, the tires looked ok so I didn't worry on them much. The welding guy pointed out to me that it had car tires on it.
I never gave it much thought till then. Grrrr sneaky people. They probably put on the cheap car tires and kept the weight carrying tires they had put on it. badnesses. oh well, I have since learned it's pretty common practice for people selling trailers to do that.
and I had never bought a trailer that carried that kind of weight. grrr's again.
A positive to the tire situation is it raised the trailer about 3" to have the "PROPER" tires on it. LOL

Carlisle tires, there have been many including myself that have had trouble with Carlisle tires.
on my travel trailer while they did lasted longer than others said they would after five years they developed a large crack on the sidewall.
people including me say Carlisle tires do not hold air very well.
so keep a close eye on them and here's hoping your's do hold air and last a long time.
$300 is a lot of money I know because I just bought new tires for my truck $700
when they went to do an alignment the found the balljoints were bad $280
this was after they found a split and leaking power steering pump hose $178.
not a good week but like your tires it all needed to be done.
have a good trip sounds like you are ready to go.

What is a good brand of radial trailer tire? Both of my trailers came with bias ply tires and I plan on changing to radial tires as soon as I can afford to.

I needed to get a tires like ... THAT day. So I didn't shop around or nothing. I could have beat the price probably with something else.
But
Anything beats having it blow out going down the interstate with a loaded CTC on the way to a week long campout. So.. if they last me couple years - I can be happy.

I've heard good things about maxis, and Goodyear marathon use to be good
but I haven't read much of anything lately about tires except one member here had a Goodyear marathon split major failure

For trailer tire info check out any trailer boating forum or the Good Sam Club forum. But I'll save you the trouble. Don't buy Carlisle or Goodyear Marathon tires. The marathons were great tires when they were made in Canada but now they are made in China and are low quality. I put Maxxis tires on my boat trailer last year and I've also heard that Denman tires are good quality. I ordered them online with free shipping and took them to a tire shop for mounting and balancing. I got my tire advice from www.floridasportsman.com a fishing/boating forum. Capt D.

Thanks for the tire tips. I sure didn't know that Goodyear had gone to having tires made in China. :( I try to never buy anything made in China. Not always easy to find an alternative but when I can I don't buy Chinese made products.

I'll look into Maxxis trailer tires. I have Maxxis tires on a couple of our dirt bikes and one of our ATVs but I've never had Maxxis tires on anything used on the highway.

We're at Edisto Beach State Park SC for this week. so far so good.
Biggest problem hasn't been what I've done to the camper but bringing too much. It pulled nicely behind a Ford Explorer V8 that we rented. Just for this trip.,
pics coming. I was having too much fun to take any today LOL.
