I have seen them mounted in a replaceable door. If you use bullet hinges, you can take off the real door, and hang a foe door that already has the AC installed.

Just an option.

Ill see if I can find the pictures.

Here is a Pic from b.bodemer TD.

Looks like the door stays on and she made a "plug" with the AC attached. Sweet.

First thing is to not buy the portable AC that is on wheels and has a vent hose that goes out the window or some vent out the floor= they don't work at all.
I bought a 12000 btu thinking it would be overkill but it would not cool my 16ft trailer until after dark, during the day you have to sit right in front of it to feel the cool and I mean cool air?
When I went to lowes to buy my window AC the sales person said they got alot of returns back for the portable AC's.
I haven't tried my 8000 btu AC in the summer because I bought it after last summer but I could tell after about a hour I had to turn it down it was starting to freeze me out.

On my cargo trailer I did this:

In cooler weather I can put the a/c in the garage. That gains me more counter space. I use a nylon bolt through the slider and into the countertop to keep it in place while traveling. I use two straps to then wrap around it to the slider.

Set up stayed in place while traveling and worked great in camp.

It sits on the ground and hoses go up inside side of the trailer.

I used two small eyebolts and ran a bungie cord. It's all I needed to keep mine portable 12,000 from rolling around on the floor.
It's been enough AC for me. People get all excited about their favorite product, but often times others have differing opinions and success.
Give it a try and luck to you. I've enjoyed mine.
In this pic. you can see the eyebolt and my bungie cord. Image
