Thanks Hank. I didn't know that so I will surely do that. It makes sense.

This is the first incident and I have used it 4 times now. Going to find some lower temp thermostats if I can anyhow since they are too hot for my liking.

How did the trailer tow? Did the stabilizer add any more stability? I also was wondering the plumbing system worked.. looks like you had water hook ups? Looks like a fun trip!! Can't wait to be able to go camping and take the toys!!

mrwall1, Thanks for reminding me to comment on the anti sway bar. The anti-sway bar made a huge difference. Crosswinds, passing trucks, etc..
The trailer was very steady. A big confidence boost at higher speeds. With the load balancing hitch, sway bar, and electric brakes on all 4 wheels, this trailer pulls very well. In my opinion, the sway bar was definitely worth the few extra dollars and effort to install. Highly recommended.

Wow! I just got schooled. This is the first time in more than 40 yrs of twistin' wrenches I have heard mention of this air bubble. The words make sense, but it goes against everything I know about plumbing. The only experience I have with RV water htrs. is the on demand type. I do recall putting in short vertical stubs just before washer bibs, to prevent water hammer when fill valve closes suddenly. Mostly in older homes where the water system and electricity had been added years after the house was built.
Nice job, Hank........ :applause:

Now that I have used the CTC a few times and I am seeing where things get scuffed up and etc.. I am getting ready to do a final interior paint job and I am now considering buying more of the same flooring material and gluing it from the floor up about as high as the etrac on the garage area walls everywhere except the cabinet doors and interior bathroom walls. I think it would look nice and make it much more robust for the type of camping I like to do. I'd really like to use aluminum diamond plate like on the outside if I could source it cheap enough. Any ideas or thoughts? I would transition with a piece of trim where needed.

The faux diamond plate is cheaper and semi durable, but ya get what ya pay for... :NC

I just found out that Atwood makes and adjustable thermostat for my water heater. Goes from 120 to 160. I ordered it and I think the old fixed temp thermostat is bad (may explain the scalding hot water limited only by the over temp thermostat) and why I would get some very slow drips on the shower hot water connection. I bet the thermal expansion was creating some high pressure. It all culminated Saturday while camping when the high pressure valve on the tank let loose. It kinda startled me... i thought a pipe burst. Glad all that water was outside.

I will confirm the bad thermostat with a multimeter, thermometer, and a pan of water on the stove.

Hank, Thanks again for the tip on the expansion bubble for the tank.

Hello, before I start i just wanted to say that reading through all 71 pages of your build is what has convinced me to join this great community all of the positive comments and helpfulness of this community is truly great and humbling. Your craftsmanship and attention to detail is truly inspiring.

I do have a suggestion for what you're trying to do with lifting and lowering your bed. Have you considered using a system that is designed as a garage storage lift. The system uses a single motor and a bar with cables to lift the bed. The pulleys used to guide the cables can be mounted into the roof using the roof struts as a secure mounting system. I've included a Youtube video of the system that I am talking about it is built into a tiny house but the concept is the same as what you are trying to do. This may be a less complicated system then trying to wire in two winches to operate at the same time. The video appears to use the same type of guides that you are currently using.

Why not FRP? I'm doing FRP up 48" inches then paneling above. It will have a
trim piece to cover the seam. With two SxS's and the trails we ride the inside will get dirty and this should allow me to wash it out pretty easily.

Thanks Zarovich89. I appreciate your comments. Glad I was able to be helpful. I've actually seen that video. I am not to sure about drilling into the ceiling to mount the motor; however, Iconfabul8 had an idea to mount under the bed frame. I am leaning towards mounting the motors on the floor...for now would be them most simple and make use of what I have already purchased. Are you considering building your own trailer?

msnglinc.. I used that for my shower walls... I guess I never thought about that for the other areas.. Thanks for the idea... That is the goal in the end... being able to keep it clean easily without it getting all scuffed up...

I am planning on building my own trailer however living in Northern Canada, I live in Yellowknife, NT which is 284 miles from the Arctic Circle I will need to do a lot more insulation that what you did on yours or i will be able to use it for only a few weeks a year haha. This morning when I went to work it was -32.4F or -38C without the wind chill, it would have been minus 49F with the windchill. I'm not sure if I will build a toy hauler such as yours or not. I know that if I dont do a toy hauler what I play on doing with the ramp area is that I will reinforce the door and turn it into a sort of deck at the rear of the trailer and build a wall at the back of the trailer that will house the battery bank electrical and will have a bar area facing the "patio" part of the trailer that will have turf on the ramp.

I am off to Madrid, Spain late next week on business and when I get back the next weekend, I am heading out on my first camping trip off my cruiser. My nephew got a motorcycle and wants to go on a road trip. Going to cruise down to the Everglades and pitch a tent and come back the next day. It will be a good dry run for my cross country bike trip I am planning. I already have saddle bags for the Kingpin and my Vance Bags sissy bar bag came in. This should work. I also picked up an Alps Mountaineering 1 man tent and air mattress. A guy needs some comforts. My bones don't do too well on the hard ground anymore. :-) I guess I like camping in the CTC and roughing it... all goes well with the motorcycles.
