Nice slider unit Don. Things like that are very helpful for old retired guys.... just sayin'. Congrats on an amazing run of 37 yrs at the same company. Thats almost unheard of these days. They must have liked you. ;) So you and Lexus are ready to hit the road, both rigs look great and I'm sure the scoot(s) are ready. Are you taking the KTM? Just remember it's really hot out there. Might want to think about some night driving or at least very early mornings. That looks like a pretty good load so just take your time and keep an eye on yer gauges. Just about 2 wks till Sturgis. I'll be there on the 5th, camping at Custer State Park again. You got my digits if you need anything. Be careful and have fun!

Thanks all on the well wishes for retirement.

Hank, I have Lexus now and she is an alarm clock regardless of work or no work... When she is mature and reliable indoors and I can let her roam the house at night, I will pull the pin on the doggy door so she can let herself out.

Thanks Hank. I should have built that slider a long time ago. It is so nice for packing up the truck bed with gear...

Making final trip preparations and got the Kingpin all serviced (I changed the oil, cleaned air filter, and put on new front brake pads) . We leave Tuesday. Will be posting some videos periodically of the trip.. mainly starring Lexus... but living out of the CTC.

Don, one quick question, did you do something to make
the slider stationary for when you travel?

Hi Don,

I'm late to the party in offering congrats on your retirement, and I look forward to seeing pics of your adventures.

I'll be joining the retirement club at the end of December.

Take care,
Tom

Hank, there is about 1 inch clearance the tray can move in with tailgate shut. I have a rubber wedge I place in the back to keep it from shifting back when I accelerate or etc.. I have a cable that I need to install so it cannot come out too far if I am parked on an uphill incline for instance. It will connect to the cargo tie down and an eyelet I will install at the tailgate end of the tray (one side is all that is needed). It will attach with carabiners for quick disconnect. That is the plan anyhow... may not get that done before I leave tomorrow... running short on time.

Tom, thanks! Will be posting some pics and videos as I go hopefully. Good for you on retiring in December! It hasn't settled in with me yet.... but I think I will adjust well.

For sure.. thanks Hank!

Loaded the Kingpin so ready to roll out. Just some last minute things at the house to take care of and then we are gone.

It is amazing what I can fit in here and still use the space on the road.

CTC towed and worked well while on the road to Nebraska. Staying at my sons place for a few days and the we head 7 hour's northwest to Sturgis. Hoping Hurricane does not damage my home in Florida while I am gone.

Boondocked 2 different nights in Cracker Barrel parking lots. Worked out nicely.

Lex says hi from Nebraska. My puppy is getting big. Lex Travels in the truck like she was born to do it. Awesome dog!

Good to hear from ya! Miss Lexi still has some growin' to
do to fit snuggly into those ears and feets and she appears
to be doin' so very well.
