Don, afternoon.

Been busy. Got the awning installed yesterday. Sadly it did not have any metal weather shield. As I figured for that price. Oh well.
In that process I discovered I do not have the LED channel bracket as you have. Its $10.00 a foot. I need 8-10 for under the fabric only and will order. No sticky tape or plastic clips for me. I will let you know when I am ready for the soldering point, BUT, :D there is a couple more things.

So in that pic, That is where I thought That antenna should go for protection more than anything but will that spot hinder the signal? Would it be better towards the back? IDK and need advice. Now I just read your thread and I don't want people to think I am trying to mimic or keep up with you, but I too thought I may like to do exactly what you did as far as taking it outside but also to store in the house when in the storage mode.

But for now, where to place antenna please and does the connection stay out side like the solar?

Thanks Don, Kathy found her badge.

Tommy, would be easier to answer via phone. I have the clips for your LEDs also.

Mcdave, Total price: $206.99 for both. :D Amazon. Be here tomorrow.

Yes Don the fabric is installed. Looks great but I can tell it will only last that 3 year or so span. Its just not thick like the original even though it is THE Dometic factory replacement. They were thicker 10 years ago for sure. I may have to retorsion the springs. Should have gone 9 turns not 6.5 I think but it works fine. That will be simple 20 min or so.

Working on led lights. Looking for an appropriate mounting channel. There are many. Don't want to mount any other way.

Yes, I was lucky, my awning rail apparently has the LED channel built in.

Tommy, did you see this in your search. The lights are only blue, but it appears to come with the channel for $44?

RecPro RV 12' BLUE LED AWNING PARTY LIGHT 12V W/ MOUNTING CHANNEL - BLACK PCB https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00WKPWS5S/re ... MzbW21ARWF

Seems like there are options out there. Here is a channel only with cover for $27.00 for way over 10ft.

Don, This is perfect, thanks.

It will fit max width of 12mm. Do you recall how wide those light are? I have them but at home and still in the box.

Would like to order today.

Now no more Coleman lantern hanging off awning with blinding light. Don't know about the cover, hope it does not dim the effect but if it does I will not use them. Some people liked that you could not see each and every LED light. We shell see.

If you don't know the size I will wait and measure when I get home. They look less than 12mm to me. IDK.

Thanks!

I don't know the size off the top. Look at your order from Amazon. The dimensions are in the description I believe .

1 meter is a little over 3ft so you will get about 15 ft with that. Plenty to do the job. :-)

10 mm width. Had to look about 5 times but it was there

Cuttable and Linkable
Led strip light can be cut between every 3 leds without damaging the rest strips. And we will provide 2 connectors for free that you can use to link the strip for DIY.
(Strip width: 10mm)

Don, Just getting it all lined up. I don't know the brand or specs of that TV ANTENNA you loaned me but was just looking at alternatives just in case in case.

Free for Life - Never Pay Your Cable or Satellite For Television Again! 1byone Omni-directional RV TV Antenna can pull in all of your local news, sitcom, kids and sports programs in full HD to any digital-ready TVs, VHF/UHF/FM, VHF: 47-230MHz;UHF: 470-862MHz; FM: 88-108MHz AM: 520-1710KMz.
• Sturdy Mount - The compact mount offers superior wind resistance smaller than traditional RV antennas.

Would this work as good, better, or not at all?

I will of course wait and see how yours does first. Maybe just fine.
