Tommy, these items should do it. The Victron monitor is about $200, but the one here will be good for monitoring your system. Just no Bluetooth for monitoring on your smart phone. The bus bars will allow you to make all the connections you have on the battery terminals now and just run a Positive and Negative cable out from the bus bars in the CTC to the batteries. It will simplify and clean up the wiring.

I've used the battery monitor and it works. It's just the basics; Voltage, amps and amp-hrs but that's enough if you want to keep it simple.

Well for the most part I'm nearly done with what could have been just a simple battery exchange...but nooooo, that wasn't enough. Had to upgrade, right? 8) Well, if I it wasn't for Don ( flboy ) I would have done just that, and only that. However he did persuade me to go a few steps further and well here you go.

Don did the entire TV to house battery charge system install. A huge upgrade for me. I just filled the parts list. :D I am just thankful for his generosity and patience.

I focused on the deck. That five foot jumper cable goes from truck to CT battery box of course but rather than expose it to the elements, I will just install prior to leaving on a trip.

It killed me to have to trim that deck down like that but I can back that puppy up any where, no problems. :thumbsup:

More pics to follow.

These are a bit redundant as Don posted his set up but here is what he did for me. :thumbsup:

I still have to zip tie some wires but mostly done! :beer:

It is wired to power the switch with key on, then you have to engage the switch to turn on the continuous duty relay. No need to have the relay on when you don't have the CTC hooked up or do not want to charge the house batteries, but you always want it to disengage to isolate the starter battery when engine is off.

Copy that,

Front deck did turn out great. Lots of storage and enough room to back up

Tommy B. Howdy;

Nice job you've done with the front end of your CT. Don, nice job with
the electrical end of the job. Kudos for all the help and support.
:thumbsup: :thumbsup: to you both.

Latest project done. I can boon dock and run this AC unit with my small Champion 2000. It will not power the AC in eco-mode though but Ill take it! Just have to expand the gas with a BERGS system. That will be about 140.00. :shock:

Thank you flboy for the idea. :thumbsup:

For once I did not have to open the wallet as every thing was just setting around. Thatshelve outside underneath the AC was just for the project. I just utilized the existing holes in the exterior to mount those extra stainless steel brackets and then set that scrap plank on top for insurance as I worked but it is growing on me. I might leave those collapsible brackets on IDK :thinking: It all goes up in 5 minutes or so as I did it about 10 times while figuring the best angle of the dangle so it would drain to the outside. Yeah that one I will keep to my self. :oops:

Anyway, maybe this will help some one! :beer:

I went out last night prior to going to bed to check the C.T temp and turn off the AC.

The temp was right where I set it, 66 degrees and 35% humidity. :shock:

:D :D :D

Don I thought about a metal bar across the top and I did almost pull those wings but they are the only thing keeping the unit from flipping out the window and a metal bar would not cover the gap all the way across the top as it is 4 inches min.

The one problem here is when I bolted the unit flush it did not tilt and it drained in to the CT. I did manage the proper tilt finally but it made securing the unit a little bit of a challenge but I did get it. You think it would be easy to just set it there but it took some time.

Thought I was done here as my rig is all that it will ever be in these current times and there's not much new to pass on or inquire about however...

After a year and a half I finally went camping again!. So much has changed. So many places closed in the forest due to covid. frustrating. But... I was able get this incredible site and decompress some. I am so glad I did this conversion and if you are considering doing this...go for it. Allocate the funds, plan ,do, enjoy. That's the hardest part though as not enough time, right?

Tommy B. Howdy;

Good to hear from ya, was beginnin' to wonder if ... Any way, beauty of a campsite.

Don't be a stranger here, check in from time to time. Who knows, maybe someone
will have a question or run into a problem you've found a solution or may have a
suggestion that can make a huge difference.

Have a good Holiday season.
