Gooood Morning Eva body!

So, this is it. Just a few tweaks. Mount the chain/tie down support to the wall and touch up those spots where the hinge screws came through. I just ground them down and sanded the area smooth. Of course I am out of stain.

I want to thank EVERY body for your advice and input. It is greatly appreciated and needed!

I will post a pic when the bike is in there also to bring closure to that project.

Hi Tommy, the drop down table looks great. Alot of extra surface area.

I am back in 321. Planning on installing the extra 300W of solar sometime next weekend before the trip later this month. Ready to do some boondocking! Weather is turning real nice for camping!

Welome back to the good ol USA Donnie. I am sooo ready to camp and ride ride ride till my hand gives out! Then chill by the fire. Ohhhh yeahhhh.

Wish my back tire had a bit more knobbie to it but I dont think I can do anything before we go. Anyway, ALWAYS something!

Do you have any extra chains for that chain saw of yours? Yes I remember!

We use these T-nuts in boat seats , ect. When ya need a flat surface.
Just make sure it's good hard wood there being installed into.
Drill the hole and hammer in from the backside.

OMG, serious? They go in the back side? I used those very same T-nuts to hold up all those plywood sheets that cover the front of the kitchen counter. I dont know I just at first hammered them in the front but they kept falling out so i glued them in place with gorilla glue.
they work fine and still righty tighty but dammmmm

And yes I was looking at them AFTER you mentioned T-NUTS, i just did not know what they where. Thank you Modstock.

I should be able to unscrew those two studs and tap/hammer/glue in those T-NUTS I think.

Hell yeah! I think I actually have a few left over too.

Hey Im thinking of using clevis hooks and chains still for the counter top. Its that or straps or maybe rope. Any other ideas. I need to wrap that up this week.

It uses a swing arm to prop the table in the up (flat), position. Bonus is it also
adds support behind the table in the folded down position so you don't end up
pushing the table back to the wall and levering the mounting 2X4 out of the sidewall.

From what I understood about Cindys set up is that it did not fold up and that is a must to protect that AWESOME window when the ttr 250 is loaded up. Did I miss something? I did recheck and went to that site? Does it fold up?


I have been studying this intensely for days. Honestly, I just have a picture in my mind of what I want and how it will work and function best for me.

I personally don't mind the sides being slightly blocked by chains or rope. Either could be purchased in some decorative form. anodized brass hardware and white rope for a nautical look and rope is soft.

The Only other way, and this would be the CHOICE way, is Two L-brackets, maybe three, that will support the shelve when in the MID-WAY position. When the shelve needs to be EITHER lifted up or placed in the down position the brackets would swivel 90 degrees to the left or right against the wall and VIOLA, But alas, I can not find these but I KNOW I have seen them before? ANYBODY,PLEASE, if you can help me find that set up.

Plan A- 90 Degree folding L- brackets. They snap/fold over 90 degrees to the left, center, or right. PLEASE HELP FIND.
Plan B- Nauticle rope and brass.

Whats your choice people?

Ahhgg, I'm so retarded! Here it is. gleaned from all your advice AND rereading Dons Post

That wood shelve is exactly 14 inches! I will just not attach the shelve to the brackets and bam. Done deal. Think out side the box. Those brackets fold flat. Perfect.
Why I could not see that before. Ordering now.

Did not account for the 2x4 and hinge thickness when I measured for walk through so it is unexpectedly tight. I can not trim the shelve as I need it to protect the window when transporting the bike.

Don can you come by this weekend and just router the counter edges?

I do like it very much but will tweak as needed.
