Dexter, will custom make you an axle if you want !
Id call and ask what the offer and what they think of your current set up.
If your happy with it, &it's safe that's what matters. I just want you safe.

Tommy B, Howdy;

Also, I just remembered (Homer S moment), there should be a tag wrapped around the axle with all of the ID info.
Maker, model, max. weight etc. have that info handy when you contact folks so they can know exactly what it is
you are calling about.

Absolutely correct! And they'll send you all the info in an email too.

Well, here's the story on this. What 95% of you knew already.

Spoke with Dexter manufacturing and then the shop that did the work.

The only bad thing that will happen is premature tire wear. That its. No axle breakage, no difference in handling. Just premature tire wear.

There is no real way to lift the AXLE up. You can only lift the trailer up off the axle by placing the leaf springs on top of the axle with custom blocks and custom U-bolts. Much like 4x4 trucks you see. To get that kind of height would take some BIG blocks and U-bolts.

So again, per advice, I will just run it. My options are to drop the axle down and leave the springs on top with a one inch block or so, It would give you some height. But still put my black tank set up/ at risk. How much is that worth?

Putting this to rest ( the lift ) and I will comment on this after my first run up to Ocala in November. Maybe 450 miles round trip. Maybe 500.

Thanks every body! :D

You got it Tommy!

Just see what it does in November. You could always revert to the way I had mine done.

Not as much lift, but enough to reduce any tank bottoming out risks and no camber issues. As you said, you could always add blocks for a few more inches if you just like the looks.

Well only 8 weeks till the first camping trip. :D

Looking at this set up from a differant perspective. The winching bed set up. Thank god I did this when I did this.

Don a few small connections to solder maybe before November but not crucial. TV cable and 12 volt adapter for TV need just a quick fix.

May need to fuse the wrist still but will try to put it off some.

Tommy, We will get all those odds and ends taken care of before the trip. No worries! Looking forward to camping also! How long you in the finger brace?

Duuno. Should know more next Friday when I c the surgeon post op. I see a wrist fusion soon though. they say no more pain then. but can I still twist a throttle after? I WILL be camping as planned unless the doc says other wise. I am so restless for fall.

Tommy, I have a fused right ankle. My injury was in 94, fused in 2013. I dealt to long, probably 10 years to long before getting it fused. In 94/95, Dr and others said don't ride. I still ride, differently but I still enjoy it. The fusion should make the joint pain free. So if it's recommend, don't wait 10+ years in pain.
