Converting Cargo Trailers into TTTs

Might have to sell...

Postby DirtyD1833 » Fri Aug 18, 2017 6:09 pm

Due to time constraints i may be selling my CT before I get into the conversion process in order to buy an RV (sacrilege, I know). In the group's honest opinion, what do you think I could get for my nearly brand new CargoMate 8.5x16? it has a factory installed window curbside, two roof vents, ramp, two tone paint and RV latch with standard bar lock among other options....

DirtyD1833, Howdy;

Probably (hate to say it), but maybe 1/2 to 3/4 of what you paid for it ... :( very :( .

Depends on local market.
Check Craigslist.
Locally to me, a utility or cargo trailer goes for basically ALMOST the price of new. So thats why I bought new.

Unless very lucky, 2/3 of new barebones price, without the extras

If you haven't used it, and is basicly new, I would start with what you paid. They won't have to wait 6 weeks. No surprises from the factory. I bet you will get some bites.

Yup, I don't see them very often, and nobody is giving them away. I'd start with what you paid. Spring may be a better season for a sellers market.

Whats the interior height, and where is the trailer located?

Sorry to hear all the trouble you have had with your trailers.

Dang Dirty,
That's a sweet trailer. I wish I could.. You shouldn't have any problem selling that one for your price. It's a 2016?
Sorry you won't get to build it as planned. That's a nice one. Hopefully things will work out for the best.

Really? Well then I can't see any reason you can't get full price give or take. Good Luck.

Hey DirtyD,
Might want to load that trailer with photo albums and food, water, ammo and tools and get the hell out of there, if possible. If you decide to ride it out, grab your life jackets and helmets and HANG ON! This looks like it might turn ugly.
Let us know you are OK. Talk to you on the other side.
Godspeed Dirty, Prayers said.

Hey DirtyD,
Well we haven't heard from ya in a while and I can only imagine you've got your hands full right now. Hope you managed to get out in time and everybody is OK. Give us a thumbs up when you get a chance so we know you are alright. Some of the other guys are in a similar spot now and our prayers go out for all of you.

Did you sell your trailer? If so, how close to getting your original cost back?
