Apparently you Guys are reading into what I write. I do not want to refill the Coleman 1# caanisters, as they state on them that they are not refillable. I was hoping they might stil be good, but apparently they expire also. And I definitey do not want a huge 20 gallon cannister to lug around and add a lot of weight to an already overloaded trailer. A couple of 1# cannisters should last me a couple weeks, as I do not do cooking because of the problem with cleanup; limited supply of water.

Yes, better to just buy them as needed, discard properly when done.
I was just clarifying for others that may come along.

I have 1 pounders that I have had around for years (like 20) and I still use them.
