I have begun my buildout for my stealthy tiny home/camper conversion with a new Covered Wagon V-Node trailer.

Currently, I working on completing the insulation, polystyrene form with expandable spray foam for any cracks.

By next week I should be well into the cabinet framing including the install of a GE 5,000 btu Utility Room/Window AC Unit. My plan is to vent out the side, but take fresh intake air from the bottom, building a plenum down to the floor.

Any suggestions as to which vent grills I could use. especially ones with some sort of mesh to keep critters out?

Thanks!

Hello btafoya,
Congratulations on your new trailer and the start of your stealth conversion. Is that a 6 x 12? You are off to a good start with the insulation, it helps a lot with heat/cooling and noise. When it comes to Air conditioning configurations, they are as varied as the styles of trailer and uses. Personal preference as to type and style. In general if using window AC higher placement is more efficient. The only thing I can think to use to keep critters out would be metal window screen. May want to use a louvered grill with screen behind it and have the louvers facing rear so as not to pick up water/dirt if placed underneath. If you search this forum you will find many, many AC installs. You may want to start by reading the installation instructions for the unit you intend to use.
Good Luck,

McDave

Welcome to the madness! :? Looking forward to your build.
If you want super stealth you need to check out Hader's AC install. It's pretty cool (Pun intended.)

That is exactly what I was searching for! I saw a YouTube video on someone installing the window AC unit a-la-stealth but could not find it when I went back to look. Thank you very much!
