Yes, now that you mention it I do remember a time when manual labor could get almost any job done. Good thinking...
I guess I did not know they had re -enactments of The War of Northern Aggression in Oregon. I just assumed since a lot of trailers are made there.

I didn’t know we had a reenactment so close. I knew of several in the valley.

The CargoMate trailers are made her win Oregon by Forest River. They also make the R-pod camp trailers.

Well I have made couple mods and have parts showing up daily...

First mod was to add (2) side vents. The trailer shop wanted $90 labor and $10 for the parts. So I picked up the vents on Amazon for $6.99 and took ten minutes to install both vents. One at the back down low, and one at the front up high. Only required a drill, @ 2 1/2" whole saw, driver bit, 16 sheet metal screws and some silicone. All of which I already had on hand.







With those vents installed I decided to go camping while we wait for the other parts. It was a solo trip so I threw in what I needed and headed out.



And set up for the weekend.







The 2005 RAV4 towed it perfectly. Averaged 18mpg which is pretty darn good in my book. E-track and stabilizers showed up while I was camping so I will get those installed sometime this week.

Oh Yeah I forgot, before my trip I also installed a wireless back up camera on the trailer. I hard wired it to the running lights so that it is on whenever I have the lights on. That way I can use it a rear view mirror. Works great. The cigarette lighter adapter wiring isn't the best and I will be hard wiring the monitor and receiver when I get the chance. Little bumps made the connection cut out.

I do not know much about backup cameras, but that wireless backup camera you bought for $45 interests me a lot. If you have any negatives to share about the camera, please let us know.

So far my only complaint is the wiring if you want to use the supplied cigarette power supply. I'd still like to use that feature so I can move the screen into a different vehicle. I'll be making the connections better this week.

Installed my stabilizers. A bit overkill for this trailer but the price was right. The pair of 5,000# jacks were $25.00. Came with screws and a bit. Also Jack handle and an adapter to use the drill to raise and lower. Took about 30 minutes to install the pair.i was only able to mount one side of the mounting bracket. I may weld in a chunk of angle iron to attach if I think I need it.

Received the roof rack I ordered. I’ll be installing it this afternoon. It came with self tapping screws but they won’t work with the tube steel frame as they are too short. So I will be through bolting the supports.

The rack is a Fitz All adjustable rack. I have to say it looks bomb proof.

Got the racks mounted. I trimmed them down 5” to make canoe loading easier.



Used my Dewalt battery powered chop saw with a framing blade.
