I should probably clarify that the type of tape I used is the kind that is similar to really heavy duty aluminum foil, not the metalized film duct tape which is like packing tape.

Made some good progress today!

Here's the next step to the process. I lay a heavy bead of sealant slightly in from the corner of the flashing tape as well as along the bottom edge then once I have the FRP mastic troweled on I press the panel into place making sure to rub the entire panel with a wood block to get good contact with the sealant.

Here's a handy tip:

If you need to trim a small amount from the edge of your panels try a pocket plane! It's a lot easier to remove 1/16” - 1/8" than trying to use a razor knife or saw.

A word of caution- notice I'm wearing a glove in the picture? This was AFTER I sliced open the tips of my fingers on the FRP when the plane slipped off the edge

Hope those fingers heal quickly. I generally use some
of that "Quick Stop" that you'd use for a dog's toenail
or a bird's beak should those get ripped or torn. Saved
me an ER trip or 2, 3, ...

I use the quick stop too!

I am going to seal the upper edges with PVC trim, the ceiling was kinda irregular and I decided not to bother with scribing it.

Found this wilst I was out getting yet another piece of plumbing for the shower (I really should make a list)

I've only used it for a couple of hours and I gotta say if you only had one adjustable wrench on your rig this should be it! Not only does it open wider than other wrenches of comparable size but you can also reverse the jaw and use it on pipe or rounded off bolts

Got the remainder of the shower plumbing done today.

I also got the exterior plumbing attached yesterday!

I did coat the hole with silicone to prevent water damage in the future.




I used an eccentric fitting so the water flowing out will have a drop, don't know if it was necessary but it couldn't hurt.


I'm not going to have an onboard collection tank so I'm just using a short piece of 3" abs to make all of my connections. I intend to only use a garden hose connection for draining the water but I went ahead and installed a standard gate valve so I could also hook up a regular sewer pipe if I'm forced to use one, nothing wrong with a little redundancy right?

Since I'm not using the typical goose neck pipe for the shower (would make the head too low) I made up this nifty adapter to screw the factory holder on so I can attach it to the wall.

Just a question, have you thought of some sort of vacuum breaker to
drain the shower hose? As is it's kinda like a soda straw with a finger
keeping the liquid in the way you have it, unless there is some sort of
vacuum breaker integral in your heater/mixer set-up. Then the question
is a mote point.

Actually no I haven't Hank. The way it's set up right now it's like a water tower, if I uncork the supply line everything pretty much siphons out, there aren't any lifts or reservoirs impeding the flow.
