I sent for a quote at a different place.
The lady called and we talked about what I wanted and she asked what the trailer was being used for. I told her my plans and she said "oh we can do this and that". An hour later I received a really high quote.

My mistake . I'll have her itemize the list. Im sure half of that needs to go.

Yesterday's quote turned out to be a fiasco.
I hate dealing with salespeople and them trying to upsell me.

Im gonna go down to the factory and have a look at one with barn doors just to get a measurement on how wide they are. I may have to go to a 6 wide. Maybe find a different dealer near there.

Modstock, Howdy;

I had excellent results from the folks at Interstate trailers right there in SLC.
Might give them a call. Worked with me on the intergoogle and came out just
fine. Picked mine up in-route to West Yellowstone to do some fishin'. So, ... it
had to be right the first time and was.

Thanks. I've checked out a few dealers in town.
Near my work is a Sam T Evan's. Had em both quote me (SLC & Ogden).
Ogden was $1,000 cheaper.
Also been looking at AAA trailers , Lone peak in American fork and some in Idaho.

I kinda like the V-nose on the LOOK trailers better. It dips down a bit.

Cant wait until I can finally order, this is driving me nuts.

Meanwhile the teardrop is ready to go. All emptied out and fixed a few things I've been wanting to do and done some detailing.
Saddest thing was removing all the stickers off the hatch , took us years to get .
So "in memory" I transferred the stickers to a square aluminum sheet we will hang in the new trailer.
I left the small Wyoming sticker.

Hankaye .
Today we visited Trailers plus and looked at some 6x10's (yes 6) .
Normally I haven't liked the looks of the "round tops" and was trying to stray away from those but..........

Was really surprised at the headroom , more than a "flat-top" .

He showed me the 2 different brand's
Interstate & " " .
One had welded door hinges and the other was bolted/aluminum.
Prices ranged from $2,800--- 3,400
I measured the rear barn doors at
30" wide.
Also checked out the fiberglass piece at the front. Seemed pretty thick and could hold up well.

The only problem is they are a bit too tall (8ft 1") for my shop door even with a lowered axle.

There was a Victory 6x12 V-nose on hand that looked interesting.
Standing in it was barely touching my head . Measured at 3"under 6 foot but noticed square tubing, fully welded on the ceiling.

My wife really liked the 6 wides but it's the first time she's came with looking at trailers.

We measured a 5x8 for a single door and the opening was 51". So I'd imagine barn doors would be pretty skinny.
My teardrop door is 26" wide (just for comparison).

One thing I liked about this place was the pricing was on paper he handed me .
Not, let's see what the computer says. Prices to accessories were on the wall with pictures.

More to think about..... and research.

Modstock, Howdy;

Yea, those folks are nice to work with.

When going skinnier then 6' I think (personal opinion), that staying with the single swing door
would be the way to go. Just be sure it swings toward the curb. For those times when you may
need to open it on the side of the road (flat tire or such). Or a ramp even.

Im definitely gonna have him get me more info on that Victory V-nose.
If it had the dropped axle and was a few inches taller inside.

I think im starting to lean towards a 6 footer . Even a small Casita trailer has the same measurements.
Have another appointment set up for Saturday at trailers plus to see if he can get something built .

Passed a lower offer on the teardrop, the guy seemed kinda sketchy.

The biggest factor for me when looking at the 5’ wide versus 6’ was being able to get my motorcycle in easily. All the 5’ were shorter unless special order. The 6x10 has been perfect for my use.

Not gonna lie for a thread that started out with good intent with potential for fast info. It sure went the other way real fast lol

Well, whatever questions I still had , YouTube vids helped with those and whatever else I guess I'll cross that bridge when I get there.
So far I have a full game plan set up when I do finally bring one home.

My other trailer sold. So now it's getting serious.

Went to trailers plus again. Was ready to plop down some cash but.....
Thier trailers were just too tall and when I asked about a dropped axle I got a blank stare. To order a custom built unit was 1k more than others.
Too bad, I really liked those.

Found a unit that meets my measurements. A build thread will be coming soon.

If anyone wants to add info, tips and tricks, ect . Feel free to do so.
That's what this thread is all about.

BTW::::::::::
While trailer hunting I've learned that there isn't a perfect cargo trailer or brand out there. Each brand has it's own ups and downs. It's what fits you or budget.
Mine came down to overall height to fit in my shop and tall enough inside which needed a dropped axle.

Modstock, Howdy;

There have been a few with the height problem/question. Here's a link
to just one solution and can work for any make/model;
viewtopic.php?t=49265&p=925466

There are others if you do a search.
