What is a good price on a 2006 T@B?

Postby Catoosa Grani » Wed Dec 26, 2007 8:04 pm

I just saw a 2006 T@B for sale and it seems to be in real good shape. The price is $12,500, is that good or bad? I haven't priced any new ones and I really don't know how they sell. I appreciate any help any one can give me on it. It probably is too heavy for the MINI Cooper to pull but thought I would check it out. Gene is out of town so I have to depend on you guys to help me.

Thanks!
Grani

Hey Betty

A couple of things, does it have airconditioning? How used is it? We looked at a few before I started building the tear. Most of them new were around 14K with heat and a/c. 12.5K is a bit on the high side but not too out of line for a practically new trailer. You should see if they'd knock a couple grand off. It's probably priced so they don't loose too much in the haggling process.

Thanks John, that gives me something to look at and questions to ask when I go see it. I am afraid the weight is just too much for the MINI though.

Rocky, I appreciate your help too. I really do like the T@B but it is heavy in comparison with our TD. I was wondering about the way they sell in case I do want to throw out an offer. I am sure he will come down but just how much I don't know. I was told he offered it to someone for 11,200.

Thanks again guys! It is so nice to have someone to go to with my questions on TD's. I love this forum!

Betty

Oh, it does have A/C and the guy I talked to said he thought it had a heat pump. He also said he thought it was used very little.

I paid 12,800 for a brand new 2007 Clam Shell from a dealer in Tennessee. It was fully loaded except for the furnace and awnings.

Hi Carol & Rick,

Thanks for the info. I think it might be best to just check out some dealers then. Thanks for the pics, I sure enjoyed looking at them. I really do like the T@B but we have a MINI Cooper and my husband says the T@B is too heavy for us to pull. I appreciated your input, thanks again.

Im curious as to what the rating for pulling with the mini is?

I don't know anything about conversions, but my T@B is 1710 lbs dry weight and as I currently have it loaded it is 1940 lbs.

WOW !!!! Twice as heavy as most tears and about 10 times the cost...

I do like the exterior colors they have though... when building mine, an RV dealer in OKC had both styles of T@Bs and they were listed around $13, 500....

Stay small Grani !

Heikki, according to Rick, his T&B weighs 1710 dry. The MINI shouldn't pull over 1400. The heighth is a problem also, catches too much wind over the MINI. As it is now with the Hunter, it just follows the MINI like it is part of it. Got to forget my "big" ideas and just enjoy what I have until we build another. We are getting the "bug" thanks to you all.

The 750 Kilo is probably a base T@B with no options. The base T@Bs with no options in the US range from 1520 - 1615 lbs.
