Cloudland Canyon - 1/11 - 1/13, 2008

Winter camping at its best! Three of us intrepid couples braved the elements this past Friday and hooked up at Cloudland Canyon State Park in northwest Georgia for a small teardrop gathering. In attendance were Doc and Marsha, newbies Stan and Debbie, and we'uns.

The weather was cold, but we managed with in-tear heaters, electric blankets or just good ole' body warmth. There were long periods where we didn't venture too far from the campfire, but it warmed up enough during the day to get out and hike around a bit. The wildlife was abundant, especially the birds, as you can see here - http://www.flickr.com/photos/47726343@N00/.

For dinner on Saturday, four of us trekked into Chattanooga for fish or ribs at the Big River Grille near the Tennessee Aquarium. Yum-O!!! (We were celebrating a birthday for the oldest of the party.)

Hope y'all enjoy the pictures and have a chance to visit the State Park.

They have Ale 8 in Georgia? Wow I have to go to Owensboro to find it. Good stuff, goes well with Kentucky Bourbon.

Good pics. All we had at Shiveree was apple pie and winter ale.

Instead of Tennessee River it looks like I'm headed to the deep blue sea.
