A storms a coming.

It's winter time and already started scouting my next solo campout.
Found a place closer to the city but has the extremes I've been looking for.
Weather report says snow starts today all the way to Sunday.
I have 4 buckets of wood precut. One will last a weekend. I'll bring 2 just in case and some pellets.
Near perfect conditions and others dare to brave as well.
Friday I'll head up after work to check I can still make it up the hill before I grab the trailer.
Winds expected to be 20-50mph and near single digit temps. ImageImage

Went up last night to "Point of the mountain" flight park.
Winds were going north so I pointed the truck into the wind. With my windmeter I recorded 28mph winds but the heavy winds came later. Stabilizers and tongue jack down, still hooked up. Not much rocking happening .
At night it's still pretty light up there with the clouds and glow of the city.
Snowed off a on most of the night and then loud rain at 4am. I started another fire and back to bed.

Stove did well. The thicker wood I cut was better by far.
Fun little trip and being close to the city, it felt like a different world. ImageImageImageImage

Holy hell that looks so cold, such a nice heater you have there!

Yeah it was pretty cold. I was worried about the wind and the stack but it held up great. I may get a shorter pipe for those high winds.
My last test will be in negative temperatures. If we get those this season. So far it's been a pretty tame winter.

Friday was a pretty stressful day, so after work I hooked up the trailer and was back up on the mountain within an hour. Not as much snow as before and shockingly No Wind or very little.
Still, was nice to get away so close to town.
Had a good view of the city once I climbed over the berm. Cold though. More vans also. ImageImage
