I would think that size would make a killer chicken pot pie for one or two.

I never found the appeal of diet sized cookware. I love good leftovers. However I have seen some cute dump cakes , giant muffins, and great side dishes prepared in the smaller d.o.'s

I had not seen small ones before. Woody http://woodydutchoven.com/ use to make a loaf size - about half their current 9 x 9. But looking around a saw the 5" 3/4 qt Camp Chef one. Was not sure it was good for two. But solo - pretty neat!

Mushroom and onions in butter to top the steak you are cooking on the grill top.

Now that's a great idea! Mushrooms and butter for steak!

Slow,

I would think you could do just about anything you wanted with a little practice. It's perfect for one.

Breakfast,

Two slices of bacon chopped, a little bit of onion, jalapeƱo, a small potato cubed. Fry those till done, add a couple eggs and when almost cooked, add a little shredded cheese. You could eat this as is or put in a flour tortilla.

Lunch/Supper

A miniature meatloaf, hamburger and pork&beans, hamburger steak with onions brown gravy. Etc

Your imagination is endless. Take some pictures of whatever you come up with. I am a cook by the seat of my pants with whatever I've got on hand type. When your outdoors, it all taste great.

I actually bought one specifically to bake half a cake in. Makes a good 4 serving cake. Camping with just one, I'd rather not have a whole cake that I feel obligated to eat. Mostly I've only done deserts in it. It's a do and it will do anything a bigger one will do.

We have numerous dutch ovens and I also have a ~6 inch oven. We usually use it for sauces but I would think a good peach cobbler for 1 hungry cowboy or for 2 if you are feeling generous. Would not take many coals..........
