Postby Cliffmeister2000 » Wed Apr 06, 2011 5:50 pm

Imagine my surprise when I stumbled upon this old Wagner skillet at one of the Goodwill stores in town!

It wasn't until I got home that I realized somebody had cleaned off a lot of the old "patena" with a grinder!

Still, for $12.99, it should make an excellent camping piece!

It looks nice.

It would look nicer with a load of chicken frying in it!!

Thats a nice deep pan. Is that what they call a chicken fryer?

I have a chicken fryer, and this one is deeper! I'm not sure what it's intended purpose was, but it's a pretty nice skillet!

That's a very early and scarce Wagner DEEP SKILLET and could date to the early 1890s. You seldom find the older deep skillets but they are very useful I find. Too bad about the grinding marks but that won't harm what you cook in the pan. Good price too!
