Huge Griswold & Wagner collection for sale

Postby QuietOutdoorsman » Fri Jun 20, 2008 12:07 am

I just came across this ad on Seattle craigslist. I have no idea if any of the collection is still available. I am not in a position to buy, but maybe someone in the Seattle area can get some good pieces.

Gaston, That would have to be a second collection. The locations are very different.

As a side note I got a hold of the first collection and hopefully will be making the drive if he calls me back in time with an address.

170+ collection for sale

Postby dreadcptflint » Sun Jun 22, 2008 8:21 am

Here is a big one for sale: http://spokane.craigslist.org/clt/674227300.html. It's a bit pricy for my blood however there should be some prized pieces in there.

I like the first collection better...

:D :D :D
I am happy to report the first collection is in my hands. This guy started collecting them about twenty years ago. He got a new piece when he went on vacation, cooked with them and had a great time until about 10 years ago he moved and left everything in storage. (I think that he got a new wife). Well now it was time to move again so he sold everything to me.

Originally, the plan was to sell off what ever my wife couldn't use. However with the condition that they are in she doesn't have to sell off anything. (The patina on these put my 80 year old grand ma's to shame).

I will have to do some pictures and big kudos to QuietOutdoorsman for the find. My wife will have to bribe you with something for your good find.

dreadcptflint, congrats on the pickup. As I said, I am not in the position to shell out a couple hundred even for a wonderful find like that pile of iron. I'm traveling to Africa to climb Mt Kilimanjaro in September and every pair of nickles I can find are being saved to pay for that trip. :D

I troll craigslist all the time. I figured even if I couldn't buy, maybe somebody on here would appreciate such a collection. No thanks necessary.

Doug, my sweetie is still working on what the fair value is on everything however the chicken cooker is one of those pieces that she might keep because she learned about cast iron frying chicken. I will keep everyone posted.

Quiet- Well you certainly deserve a thanks. My wife usually does brownies or something of that nature from scratch. Africa does sound like fun and I can understand saving oh too well.
