Hey All,

I just got the Harbor Freight Dollar Days Flier and there's a 6 quart Dutch Oven for $11.00.

Should I get one?

No! The quality of those HF DO's is pretty poor.
I think you'd be ahead to atleast get a Camp Chef, Lodge would be even better. Their quality far out weighs the increased cost.

Sooo.... a dutch oven is not unnecessarily a dutch oven. I would have thought an Iron pot is just an iron pot. I mean if it has legs and a rimmed flat lid of course. I have been known to be wrong before.

From what I've heard some of the HF ones can be warped or the lid doesn't fit on it nice & flat. People who have bought HF dutch ovens open up the boxes and check them carefully. The cast iron may or may not be of equal thickness though out the pot which would effect even cooking. So you would need to know what you are looking for.
I don't know how often Amazon has theirs on sale. I bought an 8" & 12" deep 1/2 price & an 10" 1/3 off all with free shipping. Worth keeping an eye on the site.

My wife got mine at Academy. I'm not sure what brand it is, but it works like a charm.
