I found this little grill pan in the summer clearance aisle at The Christmas Tress Shop last week. Seasoned it and then this weekend splurged on some organic pepper bacon for its first 'meal', followed up with its second meal of grilled fennel and pork butt steaks. It's stamped 24 cm, so it's not very large, but works great for one--about the size of a medium sized tortilla.

The bamboo part of the handle slides up toward the pan (to tighten) or toward the end of the handle so that you can squeeze the steel Y together to remove the handle. Not a bad little grill pan for $4.

Eunice, the stores may be different, but you DO get the 'redwood curtain.' ;)

I goofed; it wasn't Big Lots. The little pan came from The Christmas Tree Shop, which is a clearance-type Big Lots type store which is, sorry to say, centralized in New England. It can be physically and visually overwhelming--a huge warehouse filled with everything from home goods to specialty foods to accessories to paper products.

I'll envy you your redwoods, though...we always want what we don't have!
