Hi Eunice,
We won't be there this year.
There is a Puget Sound IDOS affiliated gathering on Labor Day in Seattle we might try and get down to.

IDOS Fall Convention

Postby The Teardrop Nanny » Mon Sep 03, 2007 11:23 am

8) The weather was great in La Pine, the people friendly, and the food was FANTASTIC! I made sure I wore my stretchy pants this year. Some of my favorite tastes this time included a goulash and ribs, and an apricot upside down spice cake. Dean & I attended the annual IDOS Board Mtg. at the end of the gathering as well. The next Fall convention's location will be determined by the incoming Board Members/Officers, but if you are within a reasonable driving distance, GO to it! A wonderful opportunity to see the preparation of their recipes and taste dishes made by "well-seasoned" and very experienced DO cooks. I hope next year's will be held on the West Coast again so I'll be able to attend. We really enjoyed the local chapter folks, CODOS (Central Oregon), who were the majority of the cooks this time. And of course, there were lots of DO items to purchase. No, Dean did NOT buy another DO.....at least not to my knowledge.

IDOS

Postby Eunice » Mon Sep 03, 2007 11:33 am

It was sooooooooo much fun. I was the only teardrop there in between HUGE rv's. There were so many I had them on 3 sides of me. Lots of comments on the tear. The convention was awsome. The potluck Friday night was huge! It is true anything you can cook in your kitchen you can cook in a do. The classess were great. Learned alot. The taste of Dutch on Saturday was delicious. After it was over about 50% packed up and left but those of us who stayed gathered around and talked and told stories. I had a wonderful time. I am so glad that I went and I agree with TDN hoping it will be on the west coast again. I will attend if it is anywhere near me. I will try and post some pictures. I cant believe that I didnt take any pictures of my campsite!
