Yep... Brazing cast iron is usually done with a filler rod made chiefly of nickel... A good overview here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brazing

I agree with arne, my dad use to braze D.O.'s and a lot of cast iron, he was a welder for the goverment. Jim G
