NOT cast iron

Postby Eunice » Fri Oct 26, 2007 4:29 pm

This isnt cast iron but i think it is quite the find. It is stamped out of one piece of metal. The handle and pan are all one piece. It was my grandmothers. i think it is pretty cool. The pan is warped so I wont cook with it but I am glad to have it

Wow... That is cool! Looks like something they might have used back in covered wagon days... Wonderful find. :applause:

I added a picture to show the back side of the handle. The sides are just rolled under. It looks really cool

I have two pans that are much like yours. There not old though. I bought them new about 15 years ago at a restaurant supply store. They make the best pancakes ever. Made of black iron, they season just like a wok, and become non-stick . Great find...
I know its the photographer, and not the camera. I'll keep shooting with a Pentax. Just in case.

thanks for the info. They have been around for awhile though. My grandmother died in 1984 and was in a nursing home for quite a bit of time. She may have got it in the 60's or 70's, i guess i will never know.
