Waffle Iron Handles from new toy

Postby Geron » Fri Jan 11, 2008 4:19 pm

Got a new toy:

Made some handles for one of my waffle Irons. The old handle is the black one.

This is absolutely the first time I EVER turned anything ('cept a page in a book and a fried egg)

So be kind as I know ya'll will be.

I made one of them Slightly Longer, A little larger in diameter and with a slightly different pattern .. . . ... So I could tell the top plate from the bottom one. ;)

Now how can i tell the wife the waffle Iron handles cost us $314.???

MJ,

The Jet Mini Wood Lathe. Read Some good reviews on it and ordered one from

http://www.woodcraft.com/family.aspx?familyid=20138

Got the Bed Extension for it sos I could do a table leg if I wanted to. (38" IRRC)

Came with a set of mini turning tools. Way too soft. Believe a spoon woulda done better.

Gonna retire in 162 days 15 hrs. 7 min. and counting. Gotta get some tools now cause I prolly can't afford them later. Never had a place to keep this kind of stuff (job mobility and employer provided housing) but now I do so I'm getting ready.

I'll retire June 22. Probably drop dead on June 21
If I don't I'll turn another set of handles, some pens, bowls, Maybe a TD axle :o :o ;)

Very nice G,

Turning wood and making those shavings fly is a nice feeling, isn't it?

Hey Geron... Nice new toy! I love turning stuff. I've got a Grizzly - Delta clone and it's been a fine lathe for the bucks. Now I want a big 'ol hoss of a lathe for turning bowls? It's always sumthing else huh?

Oh no! Teardrops, clamps, clamps, and more clamps, dutch ovens, old waffle irons, now there's a new obsession rearing its head. I can't keep up.
