Another Mother Lode

Postby TLC » Tue Feb 05, 2008 11:55 am

I found an antique store not far from my home that has a ton (literally) of cast iron cookware. Everything from skillets to DO's and waffle irons. The down side is his prices are up there in the clouds. I'm waiting for their spring cleaning sale to see if the prices come down. Here's a picture of part of one wall. There was much more.

looks like quite a selection! A true high quality piece seasoned and ready to use is a good investment and will serve well for a lifetime!

Mark, you're absolutely correct. I have a skillet that belonged to my Grandfather, then my mother, and now me. So, properly taken care of they will last several lifetimes.

The cookware in this store is all beautiful, no rust, seasoned, and ready to use. Just a little more than I'm comfortable paying. I'll wait till he drops his prices.
