IRG 2.0 update....cool stuff!!!!

Postby General Bon Vivant » Sun Mar 16, 2008 1:37 am

Attenshut!!!!! as you were....As the General, I am privileged and honored to be the first to display one of the Commerative Dutch Oven lids to fit a 5" DO from the IRG 2.0 This is going to be one of the offerings available to those of you that do attend this gathering. It's surely not a gathering to miss. As I understand, there will be award specific lids for attendees, longest distance, spirit, peoples choice ETC... I'm not sure if lids are going to be available for purchase, depends on response, that is still to be determined. These lids are courtesy of the same person that makes those awesome TD hitch covers. He has donated his time, dollars and efforts to make this a one of a kind gathering....Thanks George!!!

the General....

Thank You GB,
That was something I wasn't aware of...
If they are indeed going to be available for purchase, I want to buy one for sure!!!
It takes a lot of heat and energy to produce one of those little beauties... I'm thinking that George would need a fair amount of people to agree to pre purchase one to make it doable.
In the meantime, I'll be sharpening up my horseshoe game for sure!!!

Yes-Sir-Eee... The awards for IRG2.0 are going to be one of a kind dutch ovens with special lids for each award.
THANK YOU GEORGE!!! :applause:

Can he take the old lid, melt it down & use it to cast other pieces?

Thanks Guys, As the General reported the awards at this tears IRG will be 5" dutch ovens with custom lids that have the award cast on the lid.

The photo above shows the prototype I wasn't sure if there would be any interest in this but aparently there is so tell you what I'll do, If you would like one mail me a check for $20 a lid send it to my address that is listed in my web page below or pm me and I will bring the cover to the gathering and then we won't have to ship it.

This is for the lid only and this lid fits great on the 5" camp-chef oven

You must order by June 1st because foundry's take their time and I don't want there to be problems at the last minute.

Rainjer, I can't melt down the old ones because I don't own the foudry I'm just a patternmaker, but it was a good thought
