Not the usual CI find...

I collect older 'kitchen' cast iron; most of my pieces are from the 50s-70s. This weekend, one of my brand searches on eBay turned up this vintage Copco cast iron deep fryer:

I've never seen another piece like it--it's so cool I may just have to bid on it!

nope--the war was already on when I placed my bid. Now it's just sit-back-and-watch time. I have a strict rule about ebay (and other auction purchases--never pay more (including shipping) than it would sell for new.

And now that I know this little cutie exists, well...I'll just add it to my favorite searches. ;)

Looks like a nice item, is it really cast iron?

it appears to be...the seller answered another bidder's question with 'yes, it's enameled cast iron.' I'm now doing some research on the old Copco sites to try to find out more about it. It has a little drop basket for deep frying and everything.
