What is it

What is the correct term for the bell shaped pot in the center?

I have been refering to it as a bean pot. It is a type of D.O. but the shape has me curious.

In this pic the pot is on the right. In this pic you can see the feet.

Stove top pots don't have feet ( Do they?)

And it has a flat lid with the raised edge for coals.

I thought a self basting lid was domed so the steam would form and run down to the little stalactites cast in the bottom of the lid and drip off onto the item being cooked.

The bottom of this pot is round ,not gently curved , but round . One of those oversize slow pitch softballs would set in it perfectly.

I bought one similar on Ebay and they called it a cauldron. I still just call it a bean pot

Looks like a Lodge Bean pot but the lid does not look right. Are you sure it is original?

Tim : I'll try and remember to bring it in May we can look it over.

I am pretty sure it is original to the pot but who knows.
