I think it was more than that now but it still didn't seem to be a bad price...maybe 30 bucks?? Can't recall exactly.

Is there some kind of lip on one of them that keeps them together and seals them some. I think that's what I was wondering when I looked at them??

Yes, there's a lip on the skillet/lid. Makes a nice tight fit and the handles line up for easy lifting.

Check Amazon, occasionally they have them on sale with free shipping.

Back to the shopping scores, it turns out the Dutch Oven I got from my brother is a non-label Griswold made for stores that did not want fancy names on their merchandise. :D

That 3-burner stove with the griddle and '73 lantern are available for any reasonable offer plus shipping. (The '73 Coleman fuel is available for pick up only :o )

Hello. My name is Doug. I am a castironcaholic.
Still graced with two eyes and ten fingers (due in no small part to luck!).

Hi, my name is Dean and I've been a good boy... :R

Well maybe a few fantasies here and there, but I've been good, no new cast iron.
Bill gave me my latest piece... The Lodge 6"er. Seems like such a long time ago.
Hopefully, I'll stay strong and not have any relapses.

Doug,
I've been a good boy because I want to be a good boy... My dearest Joanie only offers encouragement... OK and really good treats for being good. ;)

I am watching a little No. 7 Wapak Indianhead Logo Waffle Iron (6") on Ebay right now... Could spell trouble for Ol' Deanie-Boy. :frightened:

I thought about taking them to Shasta, but things were a bit hectic on such short notice with work.
Are you still planning on using them. or are you sticking with the 242 idea???

It fits like a D.O lid It's pretty tight and seals in the moisture ;) I would grab one if you can never know when Lodge will do away with them.

Indeed, and as it turns out, "Indeed!" on both counts!

I grabbed one (a Lodge pre-seasoned 3 qt combo cooker) last night at the local Sports Chalet. I paid full price then some, but a cast iron no0b's gonna do that before he figures things out. Plus, I had been looking for any cast iron for weeks now at local thrift stores to no avail.
