Wagner Ware 17" rectangular griddle

Postby Rock » Tue Jul 21, 2009 10:29 am

Hello all. I found a 17" Wagner "utility grill" (griddle) at a garage sale unused with the label still on it.

Is this something collectors would go nuts for (due to the label) or should I just season it and use it? Seems like decent examples on Ebay go for $50 or so. I haven't tried it yet to see it it'll fit on my Coleman 425. Maybe an excuse to get the next size up vintage Coleman stove (413?)!

The 'grill' on a 425 measures right at 17" so it should fit perfectly. I'd season it & use it!

OK, you are going to ask yourself if you are a collector or user of Cast Iron. Personally, I would season it up and use it. I have done the resale in the past but that was for pieces I already had.

I've become a user and collector due to this forum. I buy antiques to use.

Yeah - in the oven it goes this weekend!

Thanks for the input.
