The price is *way* up there. Cheaper to hire Somali pirates to go get one. :o
But at least it has the rim lid for charcoal on top.

No, just $3 at the local Goodwill yesterday. (They want more for the exact same thing on eBay.)

Yeah. It seems intended for a high-end kitchen, not camping. So why do you think they designed the lid that way? Accident? :roll:

Probably so it would be different looking enough to get a patent on the design That looks like a Staub, made in Germany. Apparently the designs have never been changed and the owner smiles and keeps raking in big money.
I have one but it is a very small fondue set that I got as a gift.
