Hi all. I received a CI fry pan and DO 12" for Christmas. I have had no trouble initiating the fry pan (it was rough, but someone had to do it).

Please advise on some recipes for first few times use of the DO. It has been seasoned and ready for use. I have read that some recipes should be avoided in the beginning because of PH levels. I don't want to ruin the DO and am anxious to start cooking with it. Thanks in advance. Linda

Welcome to the CI world. Check out the link above for the Camp-cook.com site. You can spend hours. Some say to stay away from high acidic foods. But I just started with a few easy recipes and never looked back. I always oil mine before each cook and have had no problems. Post up your results with a few pictures. Good luck!

Kevin's right ....

The Papadutch web site deserves a great deal of study. Great tips on temperature control , care and treatment of your D.O. and of course all those great recipes.

If ya take time to read it thru and maybe a second re-read you will be light years ahead in your cooking skills.
