I could probably make the dinner it in a deep DO but all I have are shallow ones...Do you have a 12" or 14" deep DO?

I have an old 12 deep and a regular Lodge 14. Doug has a giant Camp Chef cast Iron Turkey cooker???

Someone suggested this may be an old soap pot. I do not know if that is correct or not, BUT before you cook anything for human consumption in that pot I would thoroughly explore that angle and see if you can rule it out.

I make home made soap and I can tell you that most metals, and most certainly porous cast iron will absorb the lye and other chemicals used in the soapmaking process (perfume oils, colors, oxides, whatever) and make it unfit for use for food.
