Congratulations on your crab creation Dan! Your culinary forethought is what makes this so much fun. Anthony Bourdain has nothing on you....Glad you're an official "patched in" AWDA member. Keep pushing that "waffle dog" envelope! Doug

I have to thank you Doug for getting me and others started in all of this. My next project is to aquire a piping bag with a long narrow tip and go for a twinkie like Waffle dog. Only with flavored cream fillings.

I acquired a piping bag years ago...but divorced her....whoops...did I say that? I like how you think on the cooking ideas. We used a bag and did up like a total of 60 or so jalepeno poppers last summer at a campout, 2 loads in a DO with the pepper rack!....YUMMMMMMM Doug

You do not need to get a piping bag. Get a ziplok back, cut one of the corners off so you tip fits snugly in and wont come out. you now have aq disposable piping bag

I do not have a Hot Diggity. I have never eaten a waffle dog. The strange thing is my favorite food in the world is a Crab Dog. I saw it and knew that very second that it was my favorite food. Thanks.

Kirk...not to worry...I'm loading the trailer this weekend and already have the waffle dog iron in. I'm planning on some traditional corn dogs ( you need the 10 count type dogs) and probably some morning waffle dogs with sausage and waffle batter. I know for a fact that there will probably be about 6 or 7 doggers there. Doug

We'll be there with ours! The boys have been enjoying my experimental recipes in preparation. They frequently include bacon (anything that includes bacon is yummo!) ... most recently bacon, cream cheese and green chilis...a popper dog! See you there!

Was the batter made as a flour only batter or a corn meal based batter.... Seems to me corn meal batter and crab really would go well together...

Just crackers and eggs, salt and pepper. nothing fancy, just wanted to see if it would work.
