DO Lifter

Postby Duwammer » Mon Oct 01, 2012 1:56 pm

I see some of you using a lifter like the one Cabela's sells.

The Cabela's lifters come in 14" or 22 " is there a preference between the shorter or longer one.

Thanks Dwayne

The shorter one is better if you're cooking on something elevated like a table. The long one is good if you're cooking on the ground.

I really like Mair's little 9" ones when using a D.O. table The longer the lifter is the harder it is to hold the lid vertical to shake off the coals.

and yes your hands are far enough away from the coals to remain very comfortable.

I see it's only your 3rd post so you may have missed this.....

Yup, I did see your masterpiece. I've been lurking for a while even though I don't post.

I did order one of the lid lifters from Cabelas, got it yesterday. Can't wait to try it out next weekend at hunting camp.
