Great finds Mike....I suggest you not throw them in a hot fire. That is a good way to warp them. Try the electrolysis method. Real easy and work good on rust. If it just has old food and crust try oven cleaner or a lye bath.

we came across some cots and some parts to old camping gear.

I turned over a dead cat. trowed him out in the trash barrels and went on.

under it all I came across the gold mine!

a wagner 17 inch cast iron griddle!!!!!!!!!!

said wagner 1891 origanal on the back and 17 inch griddle.

then up campe a kinda rusty but not bad

10 and a half in cast iron skillet!

I am thinking the rust can come off some way and the griddle has almost no rust on it.

dad told me to build a big bon fire and oil them up and toss them into the fire and get some hot coals and ashes on them to season them.

I will follow on photos but didn't have the time to take them or download them tonight

so I hope gage doesn't go beserek over my not posting photos.

photos can follow but tonight I was not into it as it was close to dark and getting cold in wyoming.

takes time to take photos than download

i amit loading from the hard drive to the furum is easy.
