The neighbors know we cook in dutch ovens so they picked this up for us at the Goodwill store when they spotted it. It's super heavy and the lid fits nice and flush. So what the heck is it? :?

I guess its a casserole dish - I'm thinking we'll try it out with some American Chop Suey.

I would use it for Lasagna, or roasting vegetables. Roasting a prime rib or poultry also. Good neighbors!

Dump cake for a crowd!

Nice one.

Looking at the little notches in the ears, it looks like it is supposed to have some removable handles for the ends, perhaps the wire bail style with the wire coiled hand holds to help lift it.

Someone who is crafty with metal might be able to make something like that for it.

I believe it is just like the one I have. several years ago I bought a nice bbq grill from Sam's.
There were accessories you could order. I bought a cast iron piece that fits when one of the grill grates is removed.
I use it a lot. It came with two chrome handles on each end.

You can't see them in the picture but there are little chrome handles. I hadn't thought of using it on the grill, that's a great idea!

Thanks,
