Slo, I just keep going back to the original method. Rub it with crisco and put it in the oven on 425 for a good hour and a half. Look at it and if it isn't black enough leave it in longer. There really is no secret. Oil, heat and time. I have used different oils and they all seem to owrk about the same as long as you let it cook in good. Good luck. BTW, I read the previous post about the Chemistry of seasoning. The girl was on the right track but waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay over-thought it. If your seasoning is not hard enough it ususally means that it wasn't baked on hot enough or long enough. Once again. Oil, heat and time.
