Just Won My First Auction

Just won my first Auction. Two Wagner skillets, 10" and 11". With shipping it will be $50 for both of them. I have an 8" Griswold, probably my grandmother's saved by my dad when Grandma "modernized" to copper-clad stainless steel. Based on that one skillet, I am thinking $50 for two more smooth-as-silk skillets is a good buy. From the description, these have been used fairly recently, they aren't rusted finds dug out of a long-abandoned shed (although Grandma's had been in a shed for probably 30 years, in a nice, dry climate).

My 8" skillet has been the go-to for several years now, but now the teen-agers are demanding bigger portions, so I have been looking for a bigger pan. The Griswold is great for frittatas, I can cook one and slip it right out onto a serving plate with hardly any sticking. I'm hoping for something similar with one of these Wagners.

Wish me luck! 8)

Congrats on the new skillets. But don't think you will stop after a couple more pieces. It's a sickness. Plus the more you like the pans you have the more you will collect!

Those look to have nice smooth cooking surfaces, not all bumpy like some. Good for you!

I just won my second auction, a Nordicware krumkake iron. But it's cast aluminum, so maybe it doesn't count. 8)

But I'm not addicted. Nope. Not me.
