Find a local beekeeper. Look on Craigslist for someone selling honey or offering to collect bee swarms or other bee work.
Or fine a religious store that sell beeswax candles.

Try your local healthfood store, that's where I got mine. A 1 lb block was about $10

I found it at Hobby Lobby. Just make sure it's pure Bees wax.

I got mine at the local farmers market, which seem to be getting more and more popular in our small New England towns.

Wow, so many good ideas. I thought I could find bees wax at our grocery store but could not. I'm going to see if I can find a local bee keeper. So obvious but I had not considered the obvious. :-)

Thanks,

This ^^^^. Or if you have any of those local Holiday gift markets where local artisans sell their wares, There will most likely be someone there selling local honey and beeswax and candles and such.
