8) Doug, I will have the paper (poster board) and pens to draw it up.....I can do that if you'd like. Also, Lee, on the day listed for the PRACTICE trials, I can adjust the time of the River Ducky Regatta for a bit later so that it would happen after the trial practices are done. I'm sure those people who have built racers would like to utilize this time to fine tune their vehicle, so I don't imagine too many would rush off to the ducks....but, I'll adjust the schedule as needed as it isn't set in stone.

Thanks again for declaring your intention to build and bring a derby, racers.

Rule #5

Postby 4123 » Fri Jul 09, 2010 4:13 pm

Hi there Doug. I'm a bit confused about rule #5 which states "no side wheels or rollers are allowed. wire whiskers or guides are however, but they must fit inside the template box without being bent to fit." My question is this. Can I put a permanent bend in the whiskers (slightly swept back) as long as they are within the 4" wide limit? Thanks, Ron

Yes Ron you can...as long as it fits in the box...you can't jam it in the box so that when you pull it out it goes SPROINGGGGGG and suddenly grows 3 inches wider. Full extension on the whiskers still can only be 4". They can sweep back. Doug

Well I just got a chance to dig out the track this morning.
It's in pretty bad shape. I don't have time to do a total rebuild, so; be prepared for a bumpy and twisted ride.

Now to go uncover the teardrop. I hope it's in better shape.
Is it true? Is it necessary? Is it kind? Ask yourself these simple questions every time you are in doubt about any action.

Lee,

what is needed to fix it up a little? maybe Gage can use his electric Steem roller to flatten it out some.

no racer  worked on my teadrop to the bitter end. Some new improvements.

See you there

Derby Delight

Postby The Teardrop Nanny » Tue Jul 20, 2010 7:24 pm

8) WHAT A FUN TIME WE ALL HAD AT THE TEARDROP DERBY AT IRG 3.0!
There will be lots of video to come.....give Dean a bit to put it together!
Many thanks to Lee & Doug for all their effort, hard work, & spirit....to the track helpers, techs, scribe, starter, finisher, track cleaner, and the many others, and especially to the RACERS (designers/builders) THANK YOU for making this event such a big hit.

Even though the track went up in smoke, all those hot racers I suppose, Lee was infused with enough good juju to tell me on Sunday that he is excitedly planning a new track that will be heavy duty, can collapse down and easily be moved to another venue. Hip, hip hooray! TD Racers (now sanctioned as the NRTA) can live on for another day.

Thanks to all those people who built, attended, and cheered on their favorite team.
