I have heard a rumor that Moon over Applegate is the weekend before the 4th with the actual moon over on the 4th. I have emailed Guy a couple of times, but not heard back. It is a great event and so beautiful. Has anyone else heard anything?

I checked it all out with Guy before listing his event on my DESTINATIONS! Page - http://www;teardrops.net/destinations01.html :

June 29 thru July 1 (2-4), 2012 near Ruch, OREGON
Guy's 4th Full Moon Over Applegate Gathering, at the Hart Tish Campground, right on Applegate Lake in Southern Oregon, just north of the California border (southwest of Medford and Jacksonville, OR). It's an absolutely beautiful place with swimming, kayaking, hiking, and, of course, fishing, and there's flush toilets & free showers. Stay 'til the 4th if you want to see the full moon rise over the lake on the 3rd! The cost is $20.00 for the three days of camping. E-mail Guy for more info & reservations: [email protected]

Yeah ... Guy can sometimes be hard to get a hold of ... ... last I heard, he's hanging out somewhere 'round Malibu Beach, livin' large ... :D  :D

See you there! We haven't missed a one ...

CHEERS!

Thanks Grant, I just want to make sure I get a spot, hopefully backing up to the lake, it was so nice last year. I already have the time off on the work calendar, so I am chomping at the bit to get it settled. Moon over, then IRG in one month, I am so excited, let the summer begin!

I am on my way down on Saturday. From PDX it looks like I can go to Grants Pass and turn left (well kinda southeast, that is the way I went last year) or I can go to Medford and turn right.

Which is easier? Medford west, or Grants Pass east? I drive like the proverbial bat, so that might be a factor as well. :vroom:

Last year we got off the freeway at Grants Pass and took hiway238 (Murphy-Williams hiway) to Ruch then up to the lake.
It's a nice country-type drive (read leisurely...you may get behind slower types [like me]
but I'm thinking, if you're a proverbial 'bat-type' driver, going to Medford will be quicker :)

I sure wish we could make it this year but alas....not to be :(

Have a great time!
