Don't miss Jefferson State's Bigfoot gathering at Pearch Creek Campground, May 30-31. (Come sooner, if you'd like!)
Where the musical sound of Pearch Creek permeates most every campsite and lots of good fun will be happening.
Don't worry about reservations. The campsites are plenty big enough to hold extra campers.

Getting There:
GPS Info. (Latitude, Longitude):
41.30889, -123.52083
41°18'32"N, 123°31'15"W

If you're coming from south of Willow Creek, take Hwy 299 to Willow Creek, CA and then turn north on Hwy 96 to Orleans.
From Orleans, California, follow State Highway 96 north approximately 1.5 miles to the campground.
Or, from the north, you might like to take the slow, curvy scenic Hwy 96, south, following along the Klamath river until you reach the camp turn-off,
about 1.5 miles above the town of Orleans.

Little Bigfoot thinks he's hiding under a Redwood; but, I heard him say he'd be there!

Indisputably ... there is a Bigfoot in the Coast Redwoods.

Found this redwood 1st week of May, and named it Bigfoot. One of the largest redwoods we found this year. Other ones nearby were named Cryptid and The Beast.

Thanks for sharing your beautiful picture here and all the others that you have shared.
I'm guessing that the man standing next to the tree is you?
Will you be camping with us or stopping by?
If you have seen Bigfoot, can you tell the story?

Thanks again!

We were unable to make it to the Bigfoot gathering due to lingering cases of bronchitis. Just wondering how it was. Any pics? Anyone see the big hairy guy?

IT WAS FABULOUS!! No video of Bigfoot, but there is a webisode on Outdoor Cast Iron Cooking of the legendary Bigfoot Burger. 8) A really relaxing, intimate gathering with 14 in attendance (13 adults, 1 kid, 4 dogs, & 7 trailers) and beautiful scenery with the sounds of Pearch Creek flowing in the background. Phenomenal food at the potluck dinners on Friday & Saturday...... :FNP I gained 3 lbs in 3 days!

Bigfoot Rides Shotgun to the gathering.

We got some interesting looks; but, he was seat-belted in and gave me no trouble.

The Bigfoot Hwy 96 was mostly a pretty albeit lonely drive:

I was glad when we reached the Pearch Creek entrance.
Image

Once we saw the Tearjerkers’ sign, I knew we were in the right place.
Image

Found an old hornets’ nest at my campsite and the poison oak was really close to my back door.
Image

Image

Some of us walked out to the bridge that crosses above Pearch Creek. The greenery was so lush that you could barely see the creek and the views were beautiful.
Image

Image

The creek was down in a gully but the sound of its rushing water could be heard everywhere!

Image

Grant Whipp took these two fabulous pictures of the creek (Thanks, Grant!):

Good Food and Good Friends at the potluck:
Image

Little Bigfoot stared looking hungry; so, we decided it was time to send him to Bigfoot heaven.
Image

Stinging the rope:
Image

And, the bashing begins!
Image

Kay’s grandson, Jovan, made the first hit and Bigfoot lost some toes!
Image

Rita went up to bat and Bigfoot tried to get away.
Image

Image

Kay’s turn; then Linda’s turn
Image

Image

Eventually, Bigfoot gave up the treats...To the victors, go the spoils!
Image

Afterwards, we gathered around the fire to talk and watch the laser light show.
Image

The camera didn’t pick up much of the fabulous light show; but, if you look closely, you might see three of the main lights in this picture. There were actually hundreds of lights, dancing.

The blackberries were in bloom and little yellow monkey flowers were found everywhere:

Sunday morning, saying our goodbyes:

And, it was time to follow the river towards home:
