If these guys go to Crest Butte, I think they are part of the "Chainless Downhill" Event. Looks pretty wild

The Tour de Fat is indeed a fabulous event and just right for my hometown of Austin, Texas. My mountainbike club (the Austin Ridge Riders) sells Tour de Fat T-shirts as a club fund raiser at the Austin, TX event. As I recall, this October will be our third year. They also give away a commuter bike in each town to a person who has committed to go carless for one year . Two years ago the ancient gas guzzling Moby Dick behemoth belonging to the winner was ceremonially pushed away to eventual recycling oblivion (yes, it took quite a few people to move it on out) as the new bike was wheeled out. If you love beer, parades and general craziness, the TdF is for you!
I've noticed some perfectly scaled teardrops designed to be pulled by bicycles as I've roamed around the teardrop e-world.

The Tour de Fat was bigger than last year. Lots of fun. Might try and get to Los Angeles for the Tour de Fat on the 23rd.
