The tires are huge.. and have a very high thread count.. so they are quite flexible.. and in that type of riding you run low pressure.. even lower in snow. The plaid touches.. and Nasa decals are Coastkids doing. The rims are cut out... as his were.. so I can put something in.. if I want.

They make another tire for it that is very knobby I will want a set of those also. :D they are sold out at the moment

I'll use UK spelling:
air pressure in that video looks LOW, and the tyre conforms nicely to the contours of the rocks. any idea on the air pressure in the tyres?

I think he is down around 7 psi..

and I think he has only had 2 pinch flats in a full year of riding. I currently have the Pugsley.. with fatter tires than a regular mountain bike.. but smaller than the moonlander. I run maybe 9 to 12 psi in the summer and have been as low as 6 psi in the snow. With this much volume you can get away with that.. and 1 pound of pressure can make a huge difference..

A buddy was riding around on one of those at the Recumbent Retreat last year. He had the pressure down around 5 psi for riding in the sand dunes. We all had fun sticking our feet out so he could ride over them. Hardly felt a thing. When you got on the pavement the steering really started getting squirrelly at those low pressures, but it felt fine off road.

Greg was it the Pugley or the Moonlander?

The Moonlander is a "Pugs on Steroids".

The Moonlander comes with the Big Fat Larry.. tire.. which might be great for many conditions.. The tires I really want are the Lou and Bud... they are a front and rear specific.. they are larger.. and VERY knobby. They have been sold out... I just found out they will be available again in a couple of weeks.

I think it was a Pugsley. I do remember that the front and rear wheel spacing were the same so you could have a fixie and a freewheel on the bike at the same time and swap when you felt like it.

Glen,
Now I'm really jealous. I wish I had some extra cash that I could lay down on one of those!!!!! I don't think I will ever be able to justify that much $$$$$ for another bike!
