Mary aka mfkaplan does some very nice quilting  . It would be nice if she would post a photo of her teardrop pillow I saw at the Dam Gathering. :) Danny

Don't have it now asit's still inthe tear. . I will do so when I get the tear back. I'm getting a new tongue assembly put on. It was too short and I really couldn't back it up. Also getting a decent jack put on. If the welder keeps his promise- Friday.

I'll try to get a shot of the whole thing.

You mean this one Danny? ;)

The picture doesn't do it justice. There are a lot of sewing within the picture that you can't see.

That picture is of the little wallhanging I made for the Dam gathering drawing. In my album there is a picture of the little pillow in my tear. I made another wall hanging with my name to hang in front of the tear. I'm really impressed with the quilt Bledsoe's mother-in-law made. Wonderful fabrics and ditto on her having an eye for color.

Gage, Even though that wall hanging is very nice I was referring to this pillow Mary made :applause: DannyImage

Mothers Day Gift

Postby Catoosa Grani » Sun May 13, 2007 4:54 pm

Here is the quilt my husband and son gave me for Mothers Day. I really do like it. The picture doesn't do it justice, the colors are brighter. What do you all think? Do you like it?

Here's a shot of more of the quilt.

I've finally gotten around to spending a few more hours on the quilt. This is my first try at quilting so I'm using it as a practice piece to develop my sewing and cutting skills. I think my next effort is going to be a quilt and matching curtains for the Dawg.

Here is Beau and Abbigail trying out the quilt for the first time.

quilting

Postby Eunice » Tue May 29, 2007 11:24 am

Oh I am so bad. The quilt for the TD is fabric I bought that looks like a quilt. I put a back on it and rolled the edges. it looks good but nothing like the quilts you all are making! Sewing isnt my thing. I have the quilt my grandmother made for me as a child and I cherish it.

Thanks Miriam. Like teardrops, I'm not done and already thinking of the next one... It's a sickness I tell you!

I want a more traditional design for the Dawg. I'll pick out the colors to match the green / tan theme and see where that leads me.

With Dean's Native American themed tears, it would be easy to put together some great quilts to go with that theme. How cool would that be!?!

Oh Joanne, some Navajo strips. Gosh you could really get in some color with that. I am a true fan of SW desert colors. Well truth is I am a true fan of all colors. Just mix em up and I like them. Quilting can be as addictive and every bit as expensive if you do it right.

Image All right everyone, it is now officially quilt season. The shop hops are done and gone (I missed it) so lets move this to the top for a bit.

The goal is to show off your quilts. Size doesn't matter!
