No problem. Actually, most on the tables were mine!

Just finished this 32" X 32" Bear Paw. It is the first one I've machine quilted. I hate practicing so I started right in on it. Stuck with simple horizontal stitching. The plan was to have perfectly even lines spaced the width of the presser foot. Easier said than done. Next time I will plan the irregularity.

I also need to sharpen up my miniature piecing skills. I blunted alot of points in this one.

When the Batiks first started showing up, I didn't particularly care for them. Now I love them.

Up next, an Hawaiian "style". Expect that to take awhile.

Judy...for practicing...you might draw out what you want to quilt on a piece of paper, then make a couple of copies, pull the thread out of the machine and just punch the holes in the paper with the needle. Saves on any thread and fabric. It at least gives you the eye/hand coordination on the quilting motions/ following lines, and doesn't waste any fabric or thread. Without an official long arm with a stitch regulator it can be tough to get the curves down with an even stitch pattern. At least it helped me.

Any one else have a new quilt project or curtains to post? My fabric for the new trailer is finally released and is on the way. I should get a start on it this next week. Doug

Glad you asked. Here's my grandson's quilt. It will be going to Saipan soon. I just need to bind it. It will be done with the Owl fabric.

I need to learn to do this. Have never tried quilting but have been sewing since I was 12. Maybe when the teardrop is done. I will need a new project then.

That looks great Debbie! I really like the piecing on it.

Becky...quilting can be a lot of fun, there is so many different fabrics and prints available now, it's a great opportunity to get creative. Doug

Thanks, everyone. Doug it was paperpieced, so it went together easily. Becky, you need to give quilting a try, especially if you have been sewing since age 11, about the same as me. A quilt for your tear would make a great first project. Rder some of that new trailer fabric Doug has!

Now on to new baby quilt no. 2. Got to finish before the Dam!

Any new quilts out there? I ask because I, myself, have done nothing of late.

My plan was to do a Hawaiian style next, but I've gotten sidetracked. For a week at the beach, I picked up a number of quilting magazines at the grocery. I haven't looked at quilting magazines in at least a decade. Before that, I subscribed to them all. I would look at them once and put them on a shelf. Finally, about three years ago, I Freecycled hundreds of them. Six months later, my niece got into quilting. Figures.

Anyway, I was blown away by all the new trends in quilts. So bright, easy, contemporary. Now I suddenly have about five I want to do next. And all my fabfic seems so old and stodgy. Shopping anyone?
